Ban Toxic Toys Voting Bloc - Connecticut

Goal:

Unite parents and concerned citizens of Connecticut to demand that their state representatives pass House Bill 5601, which would phase out lead, phthalates, and BPA from children's products.

Why:

Currently there is no law banning toxic materials such as phthalates or BPA from children's products in Connecticut.  These substances have been banned in Europe and most recently in California and Washington State. House Bill 5601 will soon be voted on in the Connecticut legislature and is being opposed by industry lobbyists from chemical and toy manufacturers (links).

How:

Join this voting bloc to let your elected representatives know where you stand on the issue and what they need to do in order to earn your vote.  We will keep you informed as to which candidates have earned your vote on this issue.

  • A voting bloc is a group of people who vote together in support of a specific issue or common concern.
  • Joining a voting bloc greatly strengthens your vote and your ability to influence government policy on a specific issue.
  • It also gives you the ability to stand up for an issue that you care about without having to donate your time or money.
